Easy Climb at Sidlak Danao : Thoughts and Realizations
I've been stressed in the past few days - not a work kind of stress but something personal. And that was a sign for me to do a quick climb! I'm not really sure what satisfaction I get every time I do trekking but every time I climb mountains with friends, it's fulfilling! Last weekend was another kind of short but a full sweat trek at the mountainous areas of Danao City.

Danao has been one of my comfy-travel destinations since I got closed with my Blogger friend Geezelle and her hubby, James who are living in this town. Geezelle runs a travel blog, Geemiz.com - yes, we share the same passion. This silent municipality offers a lot of travel spots for adventures and escapades such as Danasan Eco Adventure Park, Cebu Safari, and Adventure Park, Central Cebu Protected Landscape, among others.

That one-day trek thought me a lot of learnings. In one of the barangays we visited, Bngy, Mandayag, we had witnessed a number of women and their children who were doing some weaving craft for home furniture and decors of an international brand. They earned less than what they expected from their labor but seeing their smiles and laughs is the contentment that any money cannot buy.

While we're less than a kilometer going to our destination, we saw this little kid - maybe one-year-old kid - very happy walking with his new pair of shoes while his mother was following him down the hill carrying something heavy. They are very happy. You know that genuine type of happiness you see in their eyes? Yes, that kind of happiness!
They were living a simple yet very happy life. A kind of life that rich people cannot find from their branded dresses, signature shoes and bags, big mansions and broken family and friends. I hope my readers and followers find this article worth a read. Sometimes, you need to disconnect from the online world and live simply and enjoy life to the fullest.

Hello adopted son of Danao. hehe..
ReplyDeleteLove and agree with all the realizations. Who would have thought that a simple fun trek would give us all such beautiful insight that we would keep for a lifetime.
Salamat sa mga nindot na photos. Looking forward to our next trek.
Thanks Mother of Danao! hahahaha
DeleteI photographed a fundraising conference here recently. What a wonderful place for photos. I almost always hate being anywhere at 6am, but this breakfast event proved an exception. The manger and his staff from rental spaces for parties were extremely professional.
